Location: The area is known as Cerro da Cruz (CdC) and is in the centre of the Algarve region of south Portugal and the ideal location to explore this magnificent part of Portugal. Within a 10km radius, the area has many nearby beauty spots including spring pools, waterfalls, a castle and historic towns. A little further afield (50km radius) includes the beautiful city of Loule with it's medieval castle, art galleries and Moorish market as well as the mountains of Monchique.
Access: There are many ways to arrive. Firstly, public transport stops outside the front door and the the train station (Lisbon line) is 5 mins by car. Faro airport is a 40 min car ride and both the IC1 (national Rd) and A2 motorway are nearby. Spanish border 60 mins and west coast (Sagres/Aljezur) 50 mins by car. Nearest beach 20mins by car 35 mins by bus. Nearest town 6km.
Environment: While being very central and easily accessible, CdC is surrounded by a calm and rural terrain with some beautiful scenery and lovely walking trails (https://viaalgarviana.org/en/). Situated on higher ground, the area benefits from a refreshing breeze at most times during the hot summer days.
